We are currently recruiting a qualified Referral Coordinator –Title and Rights to join our team of professionals.

Position Purpose

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Splatsin’s land and resource referrals that may have potential to infringe on the Secwepemc Title and Rights resulting from proposed development. As the coordinator you will be fully engaged in all land-altering projects that potentially have an impact within Splatsin’s area of caretaker responsibility. The coordinator is part of a team that works closely with the Title and Rights Director, department and Splatsin Development Corporation staff, to coordinate, track and organize the referral process. The coordinator will assist the Director in processing referrals and related reports for Splatsin. This includes scheduling, set-up and attendance at meetings as required. This position involves Office work with occasional field outings

Responsibilities Include:

  • Knowledge of referral processing systems, experience with RAAD, CKK and RTS
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Conduct site visits and meet with various clients
  • Independent decision-making abilities
  • Implementing and managing large amounts of data related to land referrals, permit/license requests and proposals
  • Provide administrative and clerical support as needed
  • Ability to manage referrals consistent with the guidelines developed through the Qwelminte Secwepemc-BC G2G Letter of Commitment and Splatsin-specific permitting and consultation guidelines

Position requirements:

  • Comprehension of Aboriginal Title and Rights, cultural heritage, knowledge of Splatsin history and cultural awareness
  • RISC Certification is a definite asset
  • Formal Training in Natural Resources -Forestry, Fisheries, Wildlife, and Environmental Protection etc. an asset
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook), Microsoft Share Point, MS Teams and related apps
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
