Mission Statement: Excert from the Natural Resource Strategic Plan approved by the Splatsin council in 2007

We, the proud Splatsinac envision a sustainable future maintained by our role as keepers of the land and all resources for a holistic, prosperous, united and respectful community grounded on Secwepemc culture, language and traditions.

We are the caretakers of the land and natural resources within Splatsin traditional territory, and we will balance conservation and utilization of our resources in a sustainable manner for current and future generations.

Detailed Description: Goals and Objectives for the Title and Rights Department:

Splatsin People: To manage, develop and utilize lands and resources within Splatsin territory that will enhance the achievement of a healthy and prosperous community.

Governance: To assert jurisdiction over lands and resources in an accountable and transparent manner, founded on the strength and recognition of our Splatsin title and rights.

Land and Resources: To effectively and sustainably manage, use and protect natural resources within Splatsin traditional territory thereby achieving optimum benefits for our people.

Economy: To achieve a prosperous and sustainable economy through effective natural resource management, partnerships, joint ventures and agreements.

I am a community member who has worked in the title and rights department for over 2 years as the Lands and Water manager and now as department director.

As director I work on protecting Secwepemc title and rights on the territory on behalf of the Splatsin community.

My duties include:
-meeting coordination.
-minute taking/note taking.
-referral management
-archiving
-format documents for publishing
-maintain resumes on file
-techincal support for projects
-attend techincal working group meetings on behalf of the department at Shuswap Nation Tribal Council
- Attending events hosted by Splatsin
- support for events hosted by Splatsin
