Band Business

The Band owned Super Save Gas Bar is located on Hwy 97 and Canyon Road. It boasts a friendly staff all trained as Tourism BC Super Hosts. Besides a gas bar, there is also a convenience store and the fabulous Quilakwa Art Gallery which features beautiful native jewellery, clothing and many other great items from artisans throughout Canada. Open 24 hours.

The Band's logging company, Little Beaver Logging Ltd. (LBL) employs six full-time loggers. LBL has a joint licence and a joint partnership agreement with a couple of major logging companies. The business successfully bids on many small business salvage and harvesting contracts each year. The Band's woodlot # 338 is also managed and operated by LBL.

We have also been intricately involved in the Cedar hills, Curry Creek and Cambie wildfires of 2003 doing harvesting and management as a licensee within a Non replaceable Forest License: A73278. This has not only allowed us to generate revenue, create employment for our community and outside our community, created opportunities for partnerships to be developed with industry and has also allowed the band to be more active in forestry management by being a licensee and bringing first Nations perspectives to the management of the Wildfire areas.
